About Zuni West Brewing

Established in March 2017, Zuni Street Brewing Company is the culmination of a long time dream of Brewer and Owner Willy Truettner. Willy began his brewing passion as a hobby in college, and quickly followed up with a formal education at the Siebel Institute of Technology based in Chicago. This program afforded him the opportunity to spend three months in Munich gaining hands-on experience in German-style brewing while exposing him to a variety of brewing styles and traditions. He was recruited by Bell’s Brewery in Michigan after graduation, and spent two years gaining experience in a large scale craft brewery in the midwest.

Willy’s home state of Colorado was calling him back and he worked hard to land a rare job opening brewing for New Belgium Brewing Company. Willy spent another three years gaining invaluable experience at one of the country’s most well-known craft breweries, while always nursing his dream of opening his own brewery and taproom.

By early 2016, a location had been found and a plan put in place for Zuni Street Brewing Company in the Lower Highlands of Denver. After exactly one year, the planning and buildout were completed. The brewery opened in March 2017 and has been chugging along ever since.

In 2023, Zuni Street Brewing Company expanded its footprint by opening a second location in the picturesque town of Crested Butte, Colorado. This new taproom offers locals and visitors a cozy and inviting space to enjoy Zuni Street's beloved brews, all while soaking in the stunning mountain views. The Crested Butte location embodies the same community spirit and commitment to quality that has made the original Denver location a favorite among beer enthusiasts.
